Jade Regent NPCs

These are the plot -important members of the caravan that the players will be able to take on quests. Two may be taken each time the party leaves the caravan.
The first four are the most important to the story and will have roles to play at every stretch of the campaign.

Ameiko Kaijitsu
Age 28
Female human bard/fighter
Ameiko is a noblewoman of the village of Sandpoint and an innkeeper by trade. She once led a life as an adventurer but retired after an incident involving Sandru's older brother. Her father was murdered by her half-brother five years ago, and was avenged by Jen'Ai leaving her the only member of her family still alive. She feels the call to adventure once again after finding a scroll addressed to her father from the destroyed city of Brinewall. Gathering her friends and buying passage with Sandru's caravan, she is determined to find the truth about her family history.

Sandru Vhiski
Age 30
Male human rogue/fighter
Sandru is an entrepreneur, leading a merchant caravan in the wake of his brother's untimely demise. His business has taken him all over Varisia, and he fancies himself a different sort of adventurer. He has history with Ameiko and despite a major rough patch he considers her a sister and close friend. He also signs your paychecks.

Koya Mvashti
Age 62
Female human cleric of Desna
Koya is a follower of the faith, and has spent many a year taking in orphans and abandoned children, raising them in strong and healthy adults. Sandru was one such child, and she now joins him on this outing to Brinewall, hoping to feel young and adventurous again even so late in her life.

Shalelu Andosana
Age Unknown
Female elf ranger
Shalelu is a loner by heart, though she did participate in some grand adventures five years ago, with Kanai and Jen'Ai's former companions. She is a long-standing friend of Ameiko and Turwaithiel's older sister. She has an intense hatred for goblin-kind and has made it her mission to protect the people from those vermin. Now, she travels with her sister, ostensibly to help Ameiko with her mission but in reality as a way to protect and reconnect with her little sister.

Kanai Ledas
Age 21
Female catfolk Oracle
Kanai is the moon-dancer for her tribe, the one who reads the star's and plots their course, using them to guide her clan. Now, she travels with her elder brother to find a new home for her people. This quest brought them into a grand conspiracy five years ago, during which she helped save the world from certain disaster (see Pathfinder Adventure Path: Rise of the Runelords for more details). She now travels with Ameiko, eager to put herself back on the trail and help her friends. She is deaf and mute, and communicates through sign language and writing.

Jen'Ai Ledas
Age 26
Male catfolk fighter
Jen'Ai is Kanai's older brother, and the Moonguard for his clan. It is his duty to protect and care for the clan's moon-dancer, who happens to be his own sister. To her dismay, this makes him heavily overprotective and oftentimes he tends to smother her, leading to her wanting to rebel. He is one of the few catfolk who can fight more effectively with his claws than with any sword. He speaks only catfolk and sign language, which makes quite the barrier do communication.
(Also, for the catfolk. I don't know how you see it, but my brain tends to fluctuate between seeing them as anthropomorphic cats and as nekos with just the cat ears and tail looking otherwise human. This is purely for flavor and has nothing to do with story or lore, it's just my way of explaining inconsistencies in descriptions)

Spivey
Age Unknown
Female Lyrakien Azata Cleric of Desna
Once the familiar to a chaotic-good spellcaster, Spivey found herself trapped in the ruins of Brinewall for ten years after her wizard was killed. After plotting against the cult of Pazuzu within the castle for ten years, she was victorious against them with the help of the party, with the cult all but wiped out. In her gratitude, she has now joined the caravan to offer what aid she can, existing as a religious center along with Koya and Kanai.

Kelda Oxgutter
Age 34
Female Human Barbarian
Kelda was part of a crew of raiders that tried pillaging Brinewall castle for its riches, but they were wiped out by Kikonu and his corbies. As the sole survivor, she is thankful to the party for freeing her, and has agreed to go with them as far as her homeland in the north.

Krigg
Age 0.1
Male Goblin Alchemist 
Krigg used to be a troglodyte under the employ of Kikonu in Brinewall castle. After befriending Bruka and helping out the party, however, he was killed for his traitorism by Kikonu in an ironic twist--as Bruka set the trap that killed him. He was reincarnated by Half-Ling at the request of Bruka, but came back instead as a goblin who is now begrudgingly allowed to remain with the caravan
